Update: July 4th, 2013. Atka will be heading to her new potential home next week to see how she fits in. She has already met met the family dog and they get along great so far. Check back for an update on sweet Atka.
ATKA is very sweet 35 to 40 lb Shepherd/Malamute cross puppy about 6 mths old. We are looking for experienced owners that already have another confident dog for Atka to learn from. Atka can be shy as an only dog but since being placed in foster care with two other balanced dogs she is thriving like never before. Atka came to us from a shelter in Vancouver that was transferred from a shelter near Yellow Knife where her and her sister were found homeless. She and her sister arrived in Vancouver almost 8 weeks ago. Atka’s sister got a home fairly quickly but Atka needed time to learn to trust people and strangers. Atka is now ready to leave the nest. Atka is currently on a raw diet and we would like to see that she continue on this diet if at all possible. She has done so well on it and the benefits to her health have been amazing. Atka is already spayed, vaccinated, dewormed and micro-chipped. She is house-trained but will need to the odd reminder when moving to a new home. Atka met several cats today and could care less if they are in the room. This dog keeps getting BETTER and BETTER thanks to her wonderful, patient foster home.
