MACO…OUR MALINOIS…

This gorgeous dog is Maco, an 18 month old, neutered Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Maco is currently in foster care in Kamloops with a dog trainer who is working with him on his training and manners. Maco has taken nicely to clicker training. We are looking for a home for Maco that have no other dogs or at the most a submissive dog. Maco was attacked by several dogs in the past partly because his previous owner did not neuter him and Maco’s introductions are still very ignorant and puppish but he is learning that not all dogs want to play with him.

Maco was also nursing a sore front leg after exercise, however, x-rays confirmed it’s a soft tissue issue that needs time to heal. His foster mom is a RAHT (registered animal health technician) and is slowly working him but also trying to keep him fairly quiet so he can heal. Not an easy feat considering his breed and age. Maco needs a special home that understands the breed and their desires to WORK. For more information please research the breed as only breed savvy homes will be considered. Visit Maco on our adoptable pet list for more information.

COOPER WANTS AND NEEDS AN EXPERIENCED HOME…

Cooper is a 88lb mix breed about 2.5 years old. Cooper is a dominant, strong dog and would love nothing more than a job to do such as tracking or nose work (urban tracking). Cooper can be a challenging dog therefore we are looking for a home/handler that have a lot of dog experience. Cooper lives nicely with cats and most other dogs after a proper introduction. Check out his posting on our adoptable pet list.

MAXamillion!!!

Max is a 12lb, 1 year old cairn terrier x who is enjoying visiting the dog park and LOVES playing with the other dogs there. He is also loving going for runs in the forest with his foster mom and brother and sister. He is a curious and inquisitive little guy who loves to snuggle with the other dogs in his foster home once he’s had a long walk to get his beans out. Max does have some separation anxiety and can be vocal for the first few minutes he is in his crate and although he does settle down fairly quickly, he would probably not a good match for an apartment or a condo. If you’re interested in applying to adopt Max, please email us at crossourpaws@yahoo.ca
